My First Post

Posted by in Introduction

I feel like I need a small win when it comes to this blog. I’ve been meaning to start a blog for about 2 years now. About a year ago, Cory and I decide to start one together. This took a year to do. I don’t want to talk about how long coming up with a domain name took.

So this first post is going to be my small win. To actually get something out and to the open. And chances are, nobody will read this first post anyways, unless you are hunting back to see where my writing started.

The reason anyone would be looking back to see where my writing started is because of the hopeful plans I have for this blog. I’m not exactly sure what type of writing I’ll do, but I’m sure it’ll be a combination of things that will spark interest in certain people.

I don’t want to be a “how to make money online” type of website. Writing a post with the headline “10 ways to build an engaging audience” doesn’t seem like the type of writing I’d like to do here. However, those things do interest me, since it is apart of my life.

I think this blog will be more high level thinking when it comes to business, but it’ll probably lean more towards philosophical matters. Not “arm chair” philosophy, where I talk about stuff that doesn’t affect our day to day, but a “doer’s” philosophy. Something that actually can change the way people go about their lives.

My philosophical writings will be a weird mixture if you are expecting traditional philosophy. However, this philosophy will draw on a lot of different influences in my life. Some labeled actual philosophy, like the Stoics or existentialism, and others less so, like sociology, psychology, and whatever else I think can alter the way we approach life.

So this is my first post… and it’s a confusing one. Not much purpose to it, other than to get some writing out and get my first post up. I’m hoping this one will spark the dopamine in me to continue working on the blog.

I’m also not sure how this 2 person blog will work out. I don’t think I’ve come across one that has 2 equal, dedicated authors. Maybe Cory will write more than I will, maybe we’ll have different styles and prefer different topics that will split our readership. Some people may like his writing more than mine and vise versa.

This could lead to “marketing” our blog being more difficult, but it could make it more interesting. And since I don’t really have any goals for this blog, besides write interesting things and as a platform to formulate thoughts and get feedback from people, it doesn’t really matter.

It’ll be an interesting road to walk down.

Possibly we’ll do monthly updates of our readership, comments and whatnot to track how it is all going.

We will see.

Thanks for reading… if anyone actually read this.
